The Best New Musical Soundtracks For Families.

We are HUGE musical fans. From the old classics to new and unheard of songs, we lap each and every one up. But whilst we love our Annie's and our Oliver's, we have to admit that we are fans of the contemporary. New musicals fill us with glee and we love finding things that Max and I can sing to in the car at the top of our lungs. Here is a list of our top new musical soundtracks.

Light Up Poole

I absolutely love it when a local and free event is put on. It engages the greater community and really shows off how creative this little place I live in can be. So when I found out about Light Up Poole a few months ago, I was prepared to be amazed. Light Up Poole is an immersive light event that follows a trail throughout the whole of Poole high street and quay. Let's just say, we were totally blown away!

Based across the 15th-17th Feb between 4pm and 9pm, the whole of Poole has lit up in a multicoloured, immersive experience. Light Up Poole consists of 14 different areas. Each one is either an interactive experience, an installation or a digital light experience. They are set out in a really simple layout so you can walk from one end of the high street to the quay and not miss anything out.

January Reads - All The Books!

This year I wanted to go into reading with a positive attitude. After no longer being chained to the bookshop, I can now read anything and everything and delve into old and new books. I've also challenged myself to try something new and am reading for pleasure rather than for work. I've fallen  in love with using the library and definitely going through my TBR pile at an astonishing speed!

Having said that, I'm also working with Mumsnet on their book club where I am reviewing each of their titles and of course I am working with some of my favourite authors and publishers on their new releases.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

I'm fortunate that reading comes really easily to me, I can curl up and hours fly by as I delve into a good book. But after looking at my reading journal stats from last year, I found that I stuck to the same genres and didn't really try things that were out of my comfort zone.

Throughout 2018, I will be working with Mumsnet on their book club. Now in it's 11th year, they have covered a wonderfully diverse range of books and this year I will be blogging the books along the way. I can't wait to try things that are definitely different to my usual suspects and hope you can join along too!
